Mangaluru: Former union minister and Congress leader Janardhana Poojary demanded resignation of Minister for Water Resources M B Patil for failing in handling the Cauvery river dispute matter properly.
Addressing the press reporters on Tuesday, he said that if he doesn’t resigns to his post then chief minister should dismiss him from the post.
“The government should have been checked the affidavit which was given to the court. CM was saying that not a single drop of Cauvery water will go to Tamil Nadu, but in affidavit the government has mentioned that they can release less than ten thousand cusecs of water. Now nobody can object the order of Supreme Court,” he said.
He further said that he will support the people of Karnataka for their protests against the court’s order on Cauvery issue, but not for the bundh.
“If Congress continues to take such ant-people decisions then in next election people will not choose Congress,” he added.
