Mangalore: On Jan.8 evening there was a protest rally conducted by Popular Front of India (PFI) against the remarks made by Hindu leaders Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Jagadeesh Karanth, Jagadish Shenava, and Chakravarthi Sulibele in the past one week at meetings in Gurpur and other places.
Eliyas Mohammed, national secretary, Popular Front of India (PFI) speaking on the occasion stated that Dr. Bhat and his companions have been making derogatory speeches in public at Belthangady and Gurpur and such other places in DK district to violet communal harmony and co-operation between the Hindus and the Muslims that have existed since long years, as a preparation for the coming 2014 loksabha elections, in which BJP thinks that it could have a land slide victory. That will not happen, as long as PFI is there and Muslims will never vote for BJP in DK after hearing defamatory speeches from the RSS leaders from several platforms, be they religious or social occasions to speak.
The PFI demanded the arrest of Dr. Bhat and his companions for the inflammatory remarks made against peaceful Muslims and tenets of Islam religion.
The PFI wondered why the district in charge minister B Ramanath Rai and Health minister U T Khader of the newly formed congress Govt. have not shown the courage to asked the Police to put Dr. Bhat and such other RSS leaders behind bars for creating inter communal disharmony and misunderstandings that could lead to public riots in a sensitive region like the coastal Karnataka, especially DK district.
The speaker Eliyas Mohammed continued to declare that the crooked ways of RSS and BJP leaders to win elections nationally, will not come to pass as people will reject them as fascists and not democratic servants of Indian people.
Several leaders of PFI from various talukas in DK and Udupi made speeches condemning Dr. K P Bhat and his RSS companions in clear tones and specific language to warn against communal disharmony in future.
M Athaullah, district president, PFI, Anwar Sadath, state committee member, SDPI, Abdul Razak, state vice-president, PFI, Hameed Kandak, vice-president, Muslim Central Committee, Shafi Bellare, president, PFI Puttur Division, Anand Mitthabail, convenor, Dalit Sangarsha Samiti, Aboobakar Kulai, president, SDPI, Rafiuddin Kudroli, president, UNIVEF and others were present on the occasion at the crowded meeting against RSS campaigns called by PFI.
