Kundapur : State Minister for Ports Baburao Chinchanasur  visited Gangolli Port on June 23, Sunday and inspected the condition of the port and also heard the problems facing fishermen.

He interacted with fishermen and tried to know their problems and said he would do his work and not just give promises. The fishermen pointed out that the deposition of silt in the area has aggravated problems and brought in fears of boat mishaps. Already some mishaps have been reported and a few lives have been lost, they said.

The minister said he was aware of the brake water problem and promised to take up the issue with Central ministers hailing from the state.

The minister also visited the Trasi sea shore where a park constructed by the Tourism Department has been damaged due to sea erosion. Inspecting the damage caused, the minister said efforts would be made to undertake repair works and assured to hold talks with the chief minister and request him to sanction funds for the same.
