Mangalore : PS Yadapadithaya, registrar (evaluation), Mangalore University inaugurated the post-graduate centre of Canara First Grade College at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre on July 16, Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that PG atmosphere is different from UG. There is demand for this course as for M Com and B Com. Taking this into consideration Mangalore University have increased the capacity of seats.
He also said that students must be able to get the experience with the purpose of getting pride of experience, but are they getting this experience, he said.
He said that today there is lack of exchange of thoughts in classrooms. Earlier the class rooms were teachers centric and now its learners centric and we must thank to Information Communication Technology.
PG Courses must be in application level, But there is lack of reflective thinking about PG students. Students must have both inside and outside the classroom, he said.
Chief Guest Pangal Chandrakanth Nayak, retd IAS, said that the PG courses must have the high problem solving skills and must cultivate this into habits.
Delivering the presidential address, SS Kamath, president of association said that originally Canara Collegewas built with the capacity for 500 students, but now there are more than 1400 students pursuing their graduation.
M Ranganath Bhat, honourary secretary of the association and others were present.
