Moodbidri : Prajwal S, a student of Alva’s Kannada Medium High School in Moodbidri, has stood first in the state in the Kannada medium category of the SSLC results announced on May 17, Thursday. Prajwal scored a total of 613 out of 625 marks.
Alva’s institutions have one more reason to be proud of. Students of both Kannada medium as well as English medium sections of Alva’s High School have bagged hundred per cent results in SSLC this time.
The Kannada medium high school was started by Alva’s Education Foundation in the year 2009-2010. Students are enrolled under adoption scheme and the enrolled students are offered free education, boarding, lodging uniforms, books and learning materials. Even the examination fee is paid by the management.
For the academic year 2012-13, Alva’s has admitted 120 students for eighth standard and the students selected hail from various districts of the state.
Alva’s Kannada medium high school is in the lead not only on the educational front but also in extra-curricular activities and sports. During enrolment, priority is given to students hailing from border areas and those belonging to SC, ST, Koragas, Siddhi, Jenukuruba, and Malekudiya tribes.
Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation has congratulated the students of the High School as well as its teaching faculty for the sterling performance.
