Udupi : Prakash Kharvi, a differently abled and highly talented swimmer has made an entry into the Limca Book of Records.
Kharvi hailing from Kodi Kanyana had performed a rare swimming feat in February 2011 when he swam from St Mary’s Island to Malpe Beach for seven hours with his hands tied behind his back and covered a distance of 13 kms. He could achieve this rare feat despite his polio affected right leg.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said his father was his inspiration and added he practiced for two to three hours a day.
A fisherman by profession, Prakash also thanked Kota inspector Mahesh Prasad for assistance . Prakash aims to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
