Udupi: As per the survey conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for fisheries and sports has emerged as a 10th richest state minister in India.
With the assets of Rs 105 crore he secured his place at 10th rank. He represents Udupi constituency. He became state minister recently during the cabinet reshuffling.
Pramodh is the proprietor of Raj fish meals and Oil Company, Malpe. He is also the chairman of Canara Jewel Text tiles Pvt Ltd, Managing partner of coronet fish products, and chairman of Malpe Manipal Builders.
More interesting part of the survey is four of Karnataka minister are included in the top 10 list. Energy Minister D K Shivakumar secured second place with 251 crore worth assets, Labour Minister Santosh Lad is at third with Rs 186 crore worth property, Planning Minister M R Seetharam is at sixth position with Rs 136 crore worth assets. Nearly 97% of the south Indian ministers are crorepati’s.
With the assets worth Rs 441 crore Andhra Pradesh Minister Ponguru Narayana has emerged as a richest state minister of the country.
The ‘poorest’ award has been bagged by the Samajavadi party’s Tej Narayan of Faizabad constituency with just Rs 66612 worth assets.
