Udupi: The first ever “Saviruchi Sanchari Canteen” in the district was inaugurated by District In-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj on March 24 at the DC Office complex premises at Manipal.
Pramod Madhwaraj at the inaugural programme said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in his financial plan, had declared the dispatch of Saviruchi Canteens everywhere throughout the state under Sthree Shakti Okkootas.
In each district, Sthree Shakthi Women Federations have been shaped to run these canteens. To run the Saviruchi Canteens, every federation will be given an loan of Rs 10 Lakh with no interest by the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation. The advance can be paid in 66 installments over 67 months at an EMI of Rs 15,000.
In Udupi, Chaitanya District Stree Shakthi Okkoota will run the Saviruchi Mobile Canteen. Umashree of Chaithanya Zilla Sthree Shakthi Okkoota said that breakfast and meals will be available in the canteen. Customers can likewise purchase tea, coffee, snacks and fruit juice. The canteen can be accessible at Brahmavar, Udupi, Manipal and other major places in Udupi region. She additionally included that snacks and meals would be accessible at sensible rates.
Dinakar Babu, ZP President, Sheela K Shetty, ZP Vice President, Nalini Pradeep Rao, President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Gracy Gonsalves, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development and different authorities were also present at the programme.
