Udupi: Prasad Raj, son of former MP Manorama Madhwaraj passed away at a private hospital in Mangalore on June 23, Saturday.Prasad was ailing for some time and was on life support owing to kidney failure.

He is the brother of Pramod Madhwaraj, Udupi District Block Congress President. Prasad ‘s first wife Monica, an air hostess had committed suicide by jumping off an apartment  in Mangalore a few years ago, while his second wife  Durga Shetty too had divorced him.

His mortal remains were placed at the family home at Malpe this morning. The last rites were performed later on.

Prasad was the proprietor of Coronet Canning Company started by his father.  Apart from, Manorama and Pramod Madharaj, he is survived by five sisters.
