Mangaluru: All precautions and preventions to stop the spread of the COVID-19 is being done in the district said, District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, in a meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office on Saturday, March 21.
Out of the 89 persons tested for novel coronavirus, 79 have tested negative while results of the other 10 are awaited, he said.
He further stated that the border with Kerala has been sealed. Arrangements have been made at all railway stations for screening passengers. Also, arrangements have been made in all district, taluk hospitals and primary health centres along with that ASHA workers have also been trained to spread awareness on the virus.
The minister also advised all residents to avoid public gathering and conduct marriage ceremonies in a simple manner.
Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, MLA U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, MLC Ivan D’Souza and others were also in attendance in the meeting.
