Mangaluru: Entire city of Mangaluru is busy with the preparations of three days Deepavali festival. Preaparations are going in full swing and the markets are filled with the buyers. Things like goodu deepa, diyas, lanterns, flowers, jewellery, cloth and especially fireworks are being sold in a rapid manner.
The motto of celebrating Deepavali is to move towards light from the darkness. So, lights and lamps are the prime elements of this festival. People pray for the wealth and prosperity by lighting the small lamps called as diyas. Narakla Chaturdashi depicts the win of good over bad, Lakshmi pooja is to impress wealth goddess Lakshmi and Bali Padyami is to commemorate the Vishnu’s avatar of Vamana.
Entire city is filled with decorative lightings and attracting the buyers to purchase more things. Many shops have announced special Deepavali discounts as well the prominent malls of the city. Though the prime elements have been purchased, but the final purchasing has geared up in the city.
Youth and children are busy in purchasing the fireworks, as the festival is called as festival of joy and happiness. Not just the fireworks cloths, jewellery, home appliances and many more items have been purchased by the people to get set for the festival. As many offices offer extra bonus to celebrate Deepavali, people will buy more things than usual festivals.
Moreover, people are also busy in purchasing the gifts for their loved ones. There is a tradition to offer gifts to neighbours, office staffs, family members and friends during Deepavali. It is to share our joy and happiness with our loved ones and to wish them a happiest Deepavali.
Though many organisations in India has called to ban the Chinese items, Chinese products are dominating the country made products this year also. As the Chinese made products are cheaper and more attractive than any other products, as a common human tendency people are being more attracted towards those items. Toys, series lights, batteries, fireworks of China made are ruling the market.
