Mangalore: Senior police officer Alok Mohan, who took over charge as the new Inspector General of Police (Western Range), from Gopal B Hosur at the range office on Thursday evening addressed the media representative at his office on August 27, Friday.
Speaking at the media representative, present IGP Alok Mohan, said that Media is an important component in whatever work done by the police department.
He also said that, the media and police department must build a healthy relationship and disseminate the information to the public about the happenings in the society. The police department must work boundary less, so that there will be smooth flow of information.
He also ensured the police department to meet the public expectation. The visibility of action must be seen to the public.
The police will be absolutely tough with the bad elements and good with the good people. The law is supreme and working for police is concerned.
The department will listen to everybody and take action according to the law, he added.
Further Alok Mohan will supervise policing operations in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur and Uttara Kannada Districts
Previously Alok served as the IGP (vigilance and enforcement) KPTC and all Escoms. Being an alumnus of IIT, Roorkee, he has done his M Phil from JNU, New Delhi.
