Mangalore : Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister will lay the foundation stone for the new ‘State of the Art’ campus of Prestige International School, Jappinamogaru will be held at New Plot adjacent to the present location on NH 66, on Feb 16, Saturday at 8.30 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Deepa Comfort on Feb 14, Thursday Hyder Ali, chairman of H R Educational Foundation said that Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister will lay the foundation stone for the new campus, while Minister for Minority Affairs, Government of India, Rehman Khan will launch the Logo of Prestige International School.
He also said that Former Civil Aviation minister, Government of India, C M Ibrahim will inaugurate the School’s annual sports meet. Honourable Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Assembly, N. Yogish Bhat will preside over the function.
Mr Ali also said that Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Gulzar Banu, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, former district-in-charge ministers Krishna J. Palemar, B. Ramanatha Rai and Janab BA Moideen, MLA U T Khader, MLA Mr. Abhayachandra Jain, former Vice Chancellor of Kannur University Abdul Rahiman, senior leaders Mohammad Massod, Ibrahim Kodichal, proprietor of Raj Tiles Raviraj Shetty, Corporator Nagendra will be chief guests of the function.
Giving details of new campus, he said that the campus will be having a large pre-primary block with well ventilated and furnished classrooms. The classrooms are delightfully painted. The pre-primary block will have more than 35 rooms with access to outdoor learning and interactive white boards and are abundantly stacked with play materials.
The campus will comprise of large primary and secondary school block with a spacious, well-equipped library, separate Maths lab, Science lab, and even an Arts lab apart from an indoor stadium and large indoor auditorium.
In addition, the school will have two swimming pools-one large pool and a kiddie’s pool, and an outdoor sports stadium with separate grounds for cricket, volleyball, football, etc. There will be music and drama studio, dedicated and up to date Information Communication Technology (ICT) suite, spacious class rooms equipped with interactive white boards and the latest information technology support, he added.
The facilities for dance, yoga, gymnastics, games & athletics, swimming, karate will be provided in the new campus. The students are encouraged to participate in various medium of arts like pencil drawing, painting, chalks, collage, sculpture etc.
School headmistress Elizabeth, general manager Sayyed Faizal and PRO Sumayya were present at the press meet.
