Mangalore: Ms.Sumitra Mahajan, a BJP leader and chairman of the central Rural Development ministry’s standing Committee, today accused the Congress Govt of being responsible for all the price hikes made in 60 years in petroleum products and commodities of daily needs of Common man and housewives. She paid a visit to Joshi Sadan (BJP office) on Wednesday and addressed a group of active workers.
Ms. Mahajan stated that Sonia Gandhi simply wrote a letter and kept quiet every time the cooking gas and other materials prices were hiked by her own Govt. in power. There is no debate held on the issue every time. Such continuous rise in petroleum products has rendered lives of common people tedious, she charged.
Corruption cases are having a field day in Congress administration. They seem to be the lifetime achievements of several congress leaders in power. There is a draft bill coming up on minorities concerned. BJP MPs and workers had to be cautious on this point, Sumitra alerted.
When Atal Biharee Vajpayee was Pm, he contemplated on long range plans for rural development for the welfare of common people or farmers. He brought Rural Road Project into play. Several villages benefited and moved forward, she added.
MP Nalinkumar Kateelu, DK chief Padmanabha Kotari, city Chairman Srikar Prabhu, Monappa Bhandary (lawyer) and Pushpalata Gatti among others wee present. Sumitra is visiting DK/Udupi districts to study and report on plan implementation, before moving onto Kerala on Thursday.
