Mangalore : Around 5000 bus workers coming under Dakshina Kannada district Karmika Parishath Bus Workers Association are working in the twin district without the work security, hence they must be given the facility given to the unorganized workers and include them in the unorganized workers law, said Advocate and president of DK district Karmika Parishath Bus Workers Association Ivan D’Souza.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Dec 28, Tuesday, he said that the today the private bus workers do not have work security hence they are unable to succeed in their work. The state government has not implemented any facilities like ESI Provident and life insurance facility and advance payment. He also urged the state government to provide all the facilities given to the drivers of the government buses.
He said that, the unit of Ullala zonal bus owners association will be inaugurated in the Click Marriage Hall, near Thokkottu Railway Gate on Saturday January 1, 2011. Ivan D’Souza will inaugurate the unit. MLA U T Khader, Chandrahas Ullal, Krishnappa Salian (CPIM) and Gangadhar Ullal will participate in the function. Over 450 workers will join the new unit, he said.
Suresh Shetty, vice president of the unit, Krishna D Anchan, Jayaraj Jeppinamogaru and Ismail Kutthar were present.
