Bangalore: The pro-Hindu outfits had no hand in attacking churches in 2008, a judicial panel confirmed today.
The main reason for attacks on churches came after circulation of literature derogatory to Hindus by Christians, and attempts made to convert Hindus to Christianity by some religious groups of Christians.
The police did not join attackers vandalizing the church property, the commission informed.
There were allegations in coastal cities of Mangalore and Udupi, apart from Chikmangalore, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Bellary and Davanagere towns, about church attacks in Sept.2008. The panel went through 1500 petitions and spoke to 800 persons to reach its decisions.
