Mangaluru : A Kannada film producer has filed a case of alleged cheating by Kannada film actor Ragini Dwivedi and her brother with the J.P. Nagar police.

Producer of upcoming Kannada movie Naati Koli , Venkatesh, who had earlier filed a complaint against Ms. Ragini with the Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce, filed a cheating case with the jurisdictional J.P. Nagar police, accusing the actor and her brother of refusing to return Rs. 16 lakh that they had taken from him.

In his complaint, Mr. Venkatesh accused Ms.Ragini of having taken the advance amount of Rs. 10 lakh for an upcoming movie while her brother Rudrakash, a designer by profession, of having taken Rs. 6 lakh for her wardrobe design. He further alleged that the duo had refused to return the money stating that they would work in his next movie.

The police have sought legal opinion to pursue the complaint.
