Mangalore : The 57th All India Library Conference organized by the Indian Library Association (ILA), St. Agnes Centre of PG Studies and Research, and the Karnataka State College Librarians’ Association (KSCLA) was held on the theme of ‘knowledge society: innovations in librarianship’ at St Agnes College on Feb 23, Thursday.
Prof. B. M. Hegde, the dean of Manipal University inaugurated the event.
Chief Guest Dr. V. G. Talwar, the vice chancellor of Mysore University, said that librarians must work with the issues such as accessibility of e-content and try to reach to the mass population.
Dharm Veer Singh, the president of Indian Library Association; and Prof. Bharath Mehra, the university librarian of University of Tennessee, also spoke on the occasion.
S. L. Kadadevaramath, the president of KSCLA; Prof. Khaisar M. Khan, the director of the conference; Dr. Prem D’Souza, the principal of St. Agnes College; and Dr. Anuradha Gupa, the general secretary of ILA, among others were present.
