Moodubidri: Addressing an educated and esteemed audience of ‘Alva’s Nudisiri-2011’ participants in Vidyagiri on Sunday(November 6), a former Vive-chancellor, and Nadoja award winner Dr. M. M. Kalburgi declared here that he did not like fictional literature, but one that is based on happenings(actual) by dialogues(continued).
He wanted present-day writers to know the difference between imagined and factual literary art. He felt that it was not proper to bring in imaginary things in creative literature, to deliver just a lecture.
He said Kannadigas were ruled by an alien and rooming religion (English) and its prominence has developed at the cost of our own faiths.
The Kannadigas are darlings of tolerance to the extent that their own existence and confidence no longer seem to work. Even if diversity is good in modern days, it should not attack what is local, the diversity should nourish what is local to the place (this refers to Kannada Vs. English duel).
We should not become secondary citizens in our own land, it is tragic, the eminent thinker told his listeners.
He lambasted the Government for protecting reservation to gain popular votes.
