Mangalore: Dr. K. Ramanarayana, vice –chancellor of Manipal University, released on Friday here a book by Prof. Mathew C. Ninan, Principal of the Little Rock Indian School Brahmavara on the “Soliloquies of a Principal”, which was a collection of his articles on school education in recent times.
Dr. Ramnarayan said the book had insightful thoughts, whether timely or timeless. Schools, he agreed, needed a sense of direction and purpose. He praised the author for his clarity and conviction about timeless values in education.
James Verghese, a Trustee who presided, received the first copy of Ninan’s book, and said the author cared for both students and the staff.
Principal Ninan in reply said that the dominant concern in school education was welfare of every child. Arjun T. Raghunath, Class 12 top student, was felicitated with with parents on the occasion.
