Mangaluru : Progressive thinkers and other like minded organisations staged protests condemning the murder of activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh here on Wednesday and demanded a fair inquiry into it.
Activists and members of different social organisations participated in the protest organised by the Democratic Youth Federation of India and the Students Federation of India.
Addressing the gathering, writer Chandrakala Nandavar said the murder of Gauri Lankesh has brought a bad name not only to Karnataka but also to the country’s culture. She said murders of progressive thinkers by self-claimed protectors of religion and culture showed their regressive mindset.
DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla, Vasanthi Achari also spoke.
