Mangaluru: “After the Mangaluru University camera in ladies toilet incident, the government has directed all the universities to take proper action with regard to safeguard female students and their respect,” said state higher education Minister Basavaraj Raya Reddy.
He was speaking to the reporters after attending a programme at Ramakrishna Math on Friday.
“MU incident is condemnable. There are evidences of the person who has placed the mobile there, but his face is not clearly visible. A case has been registered at police station by MU. It is a criminal case. MU has delayed in registering the complaint. The complaint should be registered immediately,” he said.
He further said that it is a highly delicate matter, so revealing the information will not be a suitable move for the moment. Vice-Chancellor has said that the accused face can be identified in the image which is available now.
“There some criminal elements, who, try to create nuisance in the society every time. This kind of incidents should not be repeated again. Police should conduct a quick investigation in this case. I hope that the criminals will be arrested soon. I have also directed the MU to take enough care when it comes to such delicate matter. Proper precautions should be taken in future to avoid this type of situation,” he added.
