Mangalore: A Kannada translation by M. Sa’adullah, of a book in Urdu consisting of certain narrations made by Prophet Mohamed in his time (7th century) was released here on Friday at the Town Hall.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind leader S.M. Karakunna released the new book for public use. He handed the first copy to Ahmed Mohiuddeen Haji, of BA group.
M. Kunhi of publishers addressed the gathering, expressing about the effort made by shanthi publications, in creating awareness about Islam in Karnataka.
Though the books so far published, misconceptions in public mind about Jihad, polygamy and terrorism and other issues in Islamic communities, have been sought to be removed.
Kunhi added that only proper study an old religion can upload its importance.
A seminar on Islam (shanthi) was held on the occasion allowing prominent pundits to held their views, on various subjects of Muslim religion.
M.A. Javed, head of J.I.Hind in state, M.S. Nagvi, Principal of Iqra Arabic School and local Jamaat-e-Islami, Hind in Mangalore, Saeed Ismail, were present at the publication ceremony.
