Mangaluru: State Minister for Urban Development and DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader has said that there is a proposal to undertake overall development of Kadri Park area including the adjoining roads and public places at a cost of Rs 12 crore under the Smart City Project.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House on October 3, Wednesday, he said it has also been proposed to develop the Mangala Stadium by upgrading it to international standards. There are further plans to have an indoor stadium for Kabaddi and shuttle badminton near Urva Market, the Minister stated.
He also informed that a connecting road from NH 66 near Jeppu towards Morgansgate as well as a Railway Under Bridge is proposed to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crores.
He further spoke about the plans to construct a modern, mechanised abattoir at Kandathpalli at a cost of Rs 15 crores.
Khader also informed that CM HD Kumaraswamy would be visiting the city to be part of the Mangaluru Dasara Festivities at Kudroli shrine.
