Mangalore: A protest rally was held, refuting the remarks made by former RSS Chief, K.S Sudershan in a Bhopal meeting abusing AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi last week, by DKCC members today. The remarks were condemned as derogatory and unfounded by speakers at the angry meeting. The rally was made at DCO gates and addressed by B. Ramanath Rai, Congress DK unit Chief, among others.
Harikrishna Bantwal, Congress leader, speaking on the occasion, described RSS and BJP as two sides of the same coin. The BJP leaders always say that they were trained by RSS before entering politics and the connections are never severed, he exclaimed. BJP acts as the agent of RSS in the political field and has to accept responsibility for what RSS dictates he added.
He proceeded to opine that RSS was not a Hindu organization but a propaganda machine for BJP’s politics. It is necessary to save the honour of Hindus, by asking Sudershan to quit RSS, the Congress local leader demanded.
B. Ramanath Rai, who led the rally in protest against Sudershan, charged the latter with unprintable attacks made on Sonia Gandhi, who had twice rejected Prime Ministership in a dispassionate way. The remarks coming from Sudershan in a Bhopal meeting, were shameless and unfounded. RSS was treating the path of treason. Rai wanted to remain a Congressman all his life, he added.
Rai advised BJP leaders to seek Sudershan’s apology in public for the verbal attacks he made on AICC Chief on her re-election. The retired RSS leader should stop his vehement propaganda, Rai demanded.
Ivan D’souza, U.T.Khader, Shashidhar Hegde, Moideen Bawa, Naveen D’souza, Mamatha Gatti, Suresh Ullal and N. Padmanabha were present in the rally.
