Bantwal : The protestors barged into the toll booths and destroyed Brahmarakootlu toll gate at Bantwal, prevailing tensed situation on April 26, Saturday.

Ever since the inauguration of the new toll gate, various organization along with residents have been staging the protest against the staffs for collecting huge toll charges and for behaving rudely with the commuters.

The Nagarika Hitarakshana Samiti jointly with local Congress leaders staged a massive protest on April 25 Friday urging to shift the toll gate and stop the toll fee collection.

On April 26, Saturday, the Bajrang Dal activists also staged the protest against the toll gate, by blocking the road for some time and dispersed. In some time, the toll gate also witnessed another group of protestors, who vandalized the booths and said to be the general public.

The eyewitnesses said that Bhajarangdal activists used foul language against the lady DySP Rashmi Paradi on duty.

ZP member Thumbay Shetty said that Congress workers were not involved in the attack and the matter turned worse as the staff of toll booth allegedly snatched the key from a car driver at the booth.

SP Shantanu Sinha rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
