Mangalore : PT Usha, veteran athlete who   is well-known as the Golden Girl was in Mangalore  and visited Mangala Stadium to have a look at the synthetic track laid there.

Speaking on the occasion, she said she was pleased with the good quality synthetic track and urged the government to encouraging sporting talents by providing adequate infrastructure and other facilities. She also hinted at the chances of bringing her trainees here for coaching. To a question on Ashwini Akkunji, PT Usha said the talented athlete should get another chance to prove herself.

Deputy Commissioner N Prakash who accompanied PT Usha said the synthetic track has been laid  with due importance to quality and assured to get rest of the works done at the earliest.
