Mangalore: A public contact meet will be held at Town Hall on January 28 at 2.30 pm to discuss the problems faced by consumers due to the cap on subsidized LPG cylinders as well as the delay in supplying LPG cylinders to consumers. The meeting has been convened under the aegis of the Gas and Ration Card Consumers Forum which comprises members of various organizations.
Dharmendra K, President of the Forum who spoke to reporters on January 23, Wednesday said LPG cylinders faced a number of problems due to inordinate delay in supply of cylinders, with sometimes dealers taking as many as 20 to 30 days to supply cylinders. Even the problems faced by people in registering ration cards in Adyar, Kannur, Ullal and Bajal would be discussed at the meeting and attempts would be made to find solution to the same.
Deputy Director of Dakshina Kannada District Food and Civil Supplies Department Sharanabasappa, advocate Shashiraj Rao Kavoor and president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association P B Harish Rai will be the chief guests at the meeting.
The Forum has plans to hold similar meets at Shimoga, Udupi and Hassan districts, he said.
