Mangaluru: The public beaten a drunk policeman at Forum Fiza Mall after he allegedly misbehaved with a few girls on Thursday, January 14.

The accused, identified as Sadashiva is a constable in the Urwa police station; he reportedly misbehaved with five girls, including a minor at the mall. It is said that he was not in his uniform at the time of the incident.

The public, who noticed his indecent behaviour, beat him and handed him over to the Pandeshwar police. A complaint was later filed against the accused.

It is said that Sadashiva had three wives; he also had several cases against him. He was transferred from Kadri police station after he was charged with corruption.

Sadashiva was later taken to Wenlock Hospital for a medical examination.

The police registered cases under IPC Section 354, 509 and POCSO Act.
