Mangalore: In view of the II PUC examinations being held in 49 centres across DK district beginning from March 13 to March 28, the Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar, acting upon a request made by the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district
As per the orders of the Mangalore Police Commissioner prohibitory orders under Section 144 has been imposed within a radius of 200 meters from all examination centers from March 13 to 28.
During the period, excluding students who are appearing for the exams, no member of the general public can move around in groups of five or more. Any attempt to assist candidates in copying etc are prohibited. Even carrying of any weapons or other explosive materials in the prohibited area is banned.
The functioning of Xerox shops in the 200 meter radius of educational institutions has also been banned half an hour before the commencement of exams until the exams are over. Use of mobile sets, pagers or other electronic equipment is also banned.
However the order will not be applicable for any programme or function being held as per government orders.
