Bangalore : Puneeth Rajkumar has been announced Best Actor ( Subbaiah Naidu award) for his title role in Jackie and Ramya Best Actress for her lead role in Sanju Weds Geetha in the State Film Awards for 2010-’11, which were announced on Friday.
Veteran film director Bhargava has been selected for the Puttanna Kanagal award for his lifetime achievements, while S Shivaram will get Dr Rajkumar award. Ambareesh has been chosen for Dr Vishnuvardhan award.
All the three lifetime achievement award winners will get Rs 2 lakh and gold-plated memento each. Puneeth and Ramya will be given Rs 20,000 and 100-gram silver medal each.
Maagiya Kala, directed by K Shivarudraiah and produced by Bhagya Chinnaswamy, will get HLN Simha Award for the best film. The producer and the director will be awarded Rs 1 lakh cash and a 50-gm gold medal each.
Thamassu, directed by Agni Shridhar and produced by Syed Aman Bachchan, was adjudged the second best film. The producer and the director will get Rs 75,000 and 100-gm silver medal each.
Manasa, directed by Kodlu Ramakrishna and produced by Anitha Rani, was chosen as the third best film. The producer and the director will get Rs 50,000 and 100-gm silver medal each.
The government had constituted a new film advisory committee, headed by veteran director-producer SK Bhagwan (Dore Bhagwan), which reconsidered the selections for the 2010-11 State Film Awards. The awards announced in April last year were withdrawn after two petitions were filed claiming conflict of interest vis-a-vis some members of the previous advisory committee.
