Punjab: In the latest Punjab legislature elections, the joint BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) team has achieved tremendous progress, according to reports reaching here.

Counting of votes has begun at 8 AM on Tuesday. The Congress has contested in all 117 constituencies, while SAD is in 94 areas and BJP is in 23, so even if the NDA triumphs, a Sikh CM is a foregone conclusion in Punjab.

The BJP-SAD alliance has gained majority votes In 67 areas at noon, while Congress is in the forefront in 40 areas. Other parties are leading in 5 places only. The leads could change and results cannot be predicted until all counting of votes is done.
