Mangaluru : Congress workers should prevent other political parties from flaring up communal passions to come back to power in the State, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra has said.
Addressing party activists at the party district office here, Mr.Jayachandra said that partymen should put a stop to the activities of communal forces in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, which would prevent them from coming to power in the State.
Without naming the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Jayachandra said that some parties were trying to flare up communal passions on university campuses in New Delhi and other parts of the country and trying to attract youngsters. Congress activists should prevent any such move in Karnataka, he said.
Mr. Jayachandra asked party workers to focus on the needs of the people in their areas and put in efforts to address those issues. They should insist upon legislators and Ministers to get work done in the remaining two-year term of the party’s rule.
District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai, Minister of State for Youth Empowerment K. Abhayachandra Jain and Mangaluru Mayor Harinath were present.
