Puttur : A student of St Philomena College of Puttur, who hails from  Madikeri has died under mysterious circumstances.

It is said that Shivananda Nayak(23), a BSW student, died in a car mishap when he was along with his friends at Mandalapatti in Madikeri where they had been after  attending the annual day of the college. If some reports said the car which was parked atop the cliff moved back and rolled off the cliff while Shivananda was inside it, some other reports said the car fell off the cliff while Shivananda was driving it.

Another observation is that Shivananda who was involved in a theft case and feared conviction, might have ended his life.

Madikeri police are investigating the case.
