Mangaluru: Research has become part of the academic activity and its quality has gained priority and it is the need of the hour, said Prof Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya of Mangalore University.
After inaugurating the ANVESHAN – intercollegiate PG Students Research Conclave at Besant Evening College, Mangaluru, Prof Yadapadithaya said that learning is a continuous process and real learning takes place outside the classroom.
Students should develop the habit of reading regularly and should be the cream in their discipline. They should always update their knowledge to sustain and lead in their profession.
Students at the postgraduate level should be involved in quality research to lead in the competitive world. Research publications should be free from plagiarism.
Women’s National Education Society president Kudpi Jadagish Shenoy said that expectations of the modern society are always changing in nature and the present postgraduate level students need to be trained to face modern challenges. Writing qualitative research papers for publications which are free from plagiarism is one of the requirements of postgraduates.
Dr Lakshminarayan Bhat, the principal of the college, introduced the guests and welcomed the gathering. MCom VIIth rank holder Deeksha Rao and Satvika H. Shetty, the faculty member of the college and rank holder in MA (Bharathanatyam) were felicitated on the occasion.
