Mangalore: The two groups of Central Market vendors started quarrelling when tried to forcibly evacuate the street hawkers who allegedly tried carrying out trade illegally on the pavements near the Central Market on Sunday, February 9.
The police arrived at the spot and took control of the situation.
There was also plenty of space inside the market, the street hawkers do not seem to use that space. The rule which states that no trade should be carried out within a range of 200mtrs around the market, said Central Market vendors.
Gurudutt Kamath, traffic police inspector, convinced the street hawkers that their business causes blockade of people and vehicles.
The street vendor cleared the place on the requests of Police.
