Bangalore: A furious Home and Transport minister, R. Ashok, warned against drunken driving and violation of road (Surface transport) rules, and made it clear that such drivers licenses will be forfeited on the spot by law enforcement brigade.
Ashok asked public street users to observe road rules strictly to avoid accidents everyday. He was addressing a huge rally strictly to avoid accidents everyday. He was addressing a huge rally in metropolis on Saturday morning as part of Safety Week for road travelers in city.
The minister took recalcitrant and abusive auto rickshaw drivers to task, to enforce traffic rules. DGP-IGP Shankar Bidri took part in the Safe Traffic Week celebrations. A big procession was taken out, and several cultural activities formed a part of bringing traffic rules to the attention of common public on the occasion.
The following rules were imposed by Transport minister on drivers of various vehicles on roads.
If Caught in a case of drunken driving, the person’s driving licence ends. Three accidents on road by the same person also terminates his driving licence. Using mobile to talk while driving, will cancel the licence of such a driver. Any complaint received against an auto-rickshaw driver, from a customer for refusal of journey, will land the driver of the vehicle in serious trouble and legal action.
