Mangaluru : City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar has informed that four students have been arrested in connection with a case of ragging of a junior student and assault on a college principal.

The arrested are Mohammed Adil (20) and Mohammed Nizammudin (20) from Kannur, and Mohammed Riyaz (20) from Calicut.

Speaking to reporters on March 5, Friday, the Commissioner said third year Engineering students of Srinivas College of Mukka, had reportedly ragged a first year student of the same college following which the student had complained to the Dean.

The accused students were subsequently suspended.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that the accused students threatened a lecturer and even threatened him. Based on the separate complaints of the student as well as the lecturer, the police arrested the four accused students, the Commissioner said.
