Aligarh: A man carrying a pistol has been detained by Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s Special Protection Guard (SPG) in Jikarpur village of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. The SPG spotted the man in the vicinity of Rahul Gandhi’s yatra route.
The identity of the man is not yet known. He has been handed over to the police who are now questioning him. According to some sources, he is said to have a licence for the pistol found in his possession.
Today is the third day of Rahul Gandhi’s yatra. Last night, he stayed at Siaraul village in Aligarh. The Congress General Secretary is visiting the villages along the under-construction Yamuna Expressway from Noida to Agra to discuss with farmers their views on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s land acquisition policies. He has so far walked around 30 kilometres covering 13 villages.
