Puttur: District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai laid foundation stone for the construction of community hall at Sankapala, Padumale on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion Minister Rai said that the government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the development of Koti Chennayya’s birth place Padumale.
“Out of that Rs 2.30 crore will be spent on community hall. Rest of the amount will be utilised to other works in coming days,” he said.
He further said that Koti Chennayya had fought to create an exploitation free society. They are known for self respect and bravery. The government will work on all possible ways to retain their name in history permanently.
MLA Shakunthala Shetty, ZP President Meenakshi Shantigodu, Puttur TP President Bhavani Chidananda and others were present.
