Mangalore : City MP Nalin Kumar Kateel presided over a Railway Project progress evaluation meeting held on Nov.25 in city, when several projects such as Mangalore and Padil railway Stations up gradation building a railway over bridge near Padil Railway Junction a Railway over bridge near Baikampady, and double tracking from Mangalore to Kasargod which is still incomplete but Kasargod to shoranur double tracking has been completed as scheduled.
The Railway Authorities of Palghat Division attached to Southern Railway H.O at Chennai, participating in the meeting informed that Mangalore Central Railway Station at the Terminal would be gradually developed into World-class railway station in due course as all preliminary work relating to such a project has been completed on and only the implementation of the concerned development projects remain.
The Railway engineers informed the meeting that railway over bridge at the Mangalore junction, for various technical reasons, will have to be built had the outside the Padil Railway station as it exists at present. Other Railway projects are been taken up according to survey done and feasibility found when founds are available to complete them.
Various Railway Division officers such as ADC Dayanand, Anil Kumar, senior division manager of Mysore Railways, Vinaykumar, assistant traffic manager of Konkan Railways, and MCC executive engineer Rajasheker were present.
