Heavy rains have continued to lash in the July at nights and early mornings, and the city roads are worse for such sharp, steady, and large quantity of rainfall in Mumbai in particular, and west coast in general. Saturday, July 30, was a rainy Amavasya day in Aati or Ashad, when spikes went black and atmosphere was dark during the day also.
37mm of rain was recorded in Colaba, but 8mm in Santa Cruz, local electric trains were delayed on tracks, and roads were flooded, as also low-lying areas in Dadar, Andheri, Ghatkopar and Barivli on Western Railway.
Byculla area on Central Railway,also reported water-logging. A 3-storey old building partially collapsed at Kurla. Rains are expected to continue on Monday as well.
