Udupi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje visited and offered prayers at Sri Krishna Mutt and received ‘prasadam’ from Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt on Monday.
Speaking to presspersons here, Ms. Raje said that it was a unique opportunity for her to visit the Sri Krishna Mutt. This was her first visit to the temple here. Four generations of her family were the devotees of the seer. “I have taken darshan of Lord Krishna and the blessings of the seer, who is in his fifth Paryaya,” she said. Her visit to the Sri Mookambika Temple too was a beautiful experience for her.She had planned nearly seven times to visit the Sri Mookambika temple earlier and but could not make it. “But the gods have their own time and call you,” she said.
Speaking to presspersons, the seer also recalled the association the royal family of Gwalior had with him over the decades since the time of the late Rajamata Vijaya Raje Scindia.
“I had sent Ms. Raje a message as soon as I learnt that she is visiting Kollur that Udupi was near to Kollur. And she has come here,” he said.
Earlier Vasundhara Raje visited the Sri Mookambika Temple at Kollur and the Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi.
She was given a traditional welcome at the entrance of the temple.
G.C. Janardhan, Executive Officer of the Sri Mookambika Temple told The Hindu that Ms. Raje participated in the ‘mangalarti’ ritual and did ‘japa’ in front of Goddess Mookambika for about 10 minutes. She also offered prayers at the Veerabhadra shrine in the temple complex, he said.
