Mumbai: Rajesh Khanna, Bollywood’s first superstar has faded into history. The 69 year old actor who was ailing since some time died at his residence in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Rajesh Khanna shot to fame with his super hit movies like ‘Amar Prem.’ ‘Aradhana’ and ‘Do Raste’ and was popularly known as Kaka. He is survived by his wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle and Rinky and son-in-law Akshay Kumar.

The actor has been admitted to hospital several times earlier for illness. Khanna’s first film was ‘Aakhri Raat” and his last commercial on TV was for Havells Fan.

A number of Bollywood stars, celebrities and leaders have paid their last respects to the departed star. Some of Khanna’s popular films are “Safar”, “Kati Patang”, “Sachaa Jhutha”, “Aan Milo Sajna”, “Anand”, “Amar Prem” and “Mere Jeevan Saathi”
