Udupi:  State minister for Ports and Mujrai Kota Srinivas Poojari flagged off a rally organized in Udupi on August 14, Tuesday to commemorate the Geneva Convention. On this occasion, the Udupi branch of the Indian Red Cross Society launched a fund raising programme for its community service initiatives.

Students from MGM College, Upendra Pai Memorial College, Poorna Prajna College and Women’s First Grade College, Ajjarakadu, participated in the rally in significant numbers.

The procession culminated at the Udupi Board high school after passing through Court Road, Diana Circle and Kavi Muddana road.

Dr Madhusudan Hegde, Lions District Governor, Basrur Rajeev Shetty, Vice Chairman c of the Karnataka state Indian Red Cross Society, Suresh Prabhu, Lions Vice District Governor K. Ramachandra Devadiga, Secretary and others were present.
