Mangalore: Sri Ram Navami(Birthday) celebrations in city are scheduled to take place at the Nehru Maidan in a specially Constructed Pandal, from March 31 to April 2 this year. It is jointly arranged by VHP, Bajrang Dal and a Ramotsava Committee Constituted for the purpose, with Prof M.B. Puranik heading it.
Puranik gave the details at a pressmeet called at Sharada Vidyalaya on Wednesday, March 21.
The Utsava flag will be hoisted at 9-30 morning on March 31, followed by installation of Sri Seetharama images for worship.
Rotary, Governor Dr. Devdas Rai unfurls the flag. There will be regular bhajans singing, Mahapooja at noon, and Prasadam distribution on all 3 days.
Religious meetings are held in the evenings. On April 1 Sri Ramanavami special Pooja is performed.
Games will be arranged for boys and girls. On April 2, Seetharama Kalyana, Ravana-doll burning event, and fire cracker shows will be held.
Various office-bearers were present during the pressmeet.
