Mangalore : Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore organized All Karnataka State Youth Convention held as part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Sangha Niketan on December 22, Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt said that only spiritualism and nationalism can combat corruption in the country. Swamiji said that Corruption is like a viral disease spreading
throughout the country; hence one must evoke sense of spiritualism and nationalism among oneself. He urged the youths to follow the footstep of Swami Vivekananda and his principles who worked to give a corruption free nation and society.
Former Karnataka Lokayukta and former judge of the Supreme Court, Justice N Santhosh Hegde, said that today the world is getting more materialistic, as the greed is overlapping people’s personality; hence every school must implement the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
He said that he has visited more than 520 educational institutions in the past 6 years and tried to interact with the youths and made them understand about importance and happiness gained to oneself from wealth collected legitimately.
Dignitaries Dr. N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University, Swami Jitakamanadaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore, Swami Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj, Coordinator, Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee, Belur Mutt, Howrah, were present on the dais.
