Mangaluru : The Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangaluru, began another 20 Sundays of cleanliness drive, as part of the second phase of Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan.
Swami Muktidanandaji, Trustee, Ramakrishna Mutt and Mission and Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, inaugurated the drive at Karanglapady here, while MRPL Managing Director H. Kumar flagged off the 21st cleanliness drive.
Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumakuru, Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Manjunath Bhandari, Chairman, Sahyadri Group of Institutions and others were present.
Over 400 volunteers participated in this Sunday’s drive and renovated the autorickshaw stand at Karanglapady.
They beautified the stand with new roof and stand of corrugated sheets. It has also boards containing the messages of awareness on Swachh Mangaluru.
The cleanliness drive was followed by a seminar on Swachh Bharath at the Mutt.
