Mangaluru: Former minister B Ramanatha Rai has expressed his concern over the inconveniences caused to the public due to the suspension of the four -laning works of the NH 75 stretch between Addahole and BC Road.
Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on November 27, Tuesday, Rai said the road work taken up last year was expected to be completed in 30 months by the contract company Larsen and Toubro.
While pointing out that the work was suspended as the NHAI has not cleared dues of the company, Rai urged the National Highway Authority to immediately clear the bills of the contractor.
He also appealed to the Union Government to ensure that the works resumed at the earliest.
Rai on this occasion chose to blame the local MP for the slow pace of the highway works in the district and urged him to ensure that the highway projects were completed on time.
District Congress President and MLA Harish Kumar, Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, former ZP Chief Mamatha Gatti, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Corporator Naveen D’Souza, Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.
