Udupi : Noted theatre director Chidambara Rao said there is much difference between cultural programmes and entertainment programmes and that the common man was unaware of the same.
He was speaking after inaugurating a National Ranga Habba organised at the Bhujanga Pak Open Air Auditorium at Ajjarkad on behalf of Sumanasa Kodavoor.
Cultural programmes should in reality help people elevate to a higher level in life, he added.
K Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA presided over the function. UR Sabhapathi, former MLA, former councilor Meenakshi Bannanje were the chief guest. Artiste PN Acharya and Sukumar Mohan of Natka Mudradi were honoured.
Painting exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Vijayendra Kadiyali. Bhasker Bachanabailu, President of Sumanasa, HN Satya, Director of Rangayana and others were present.Satya inaugurated two workshops organized by Tulu Academy on the occasion.
